School Daycare Educator

About the program

The School Daycare Educator program covers various topics that focus on pre-school and school-age children’s development. The program also focuses on the creation and organization of activities while keeping the children safe. The program is offered part-time, two evenings per week.

We provide you with hands-on and guided training. Your learning time will be spent in practical workshops, working in teams, and under the leadership of our seasoned teaching staff. Our teaching philosophy is focused on problem solving and learning by doing.We complement our classroom learning with our student placement in a school daycare, which will allow you to apply your skills in a real world setting.

Skills you will learn:

  • Working With Preschool and School-Age Children
  • Working With Children and Groups of Children Experiencing Problems 
  • Planning and Organizing Activities
  • Safety and Well-Being of Children
  • Activities Focusing on:
    • Social, Emotional and Moral Development
    • Psychomotor Development
    • Cognitive Development

A career as a School Daycare Educator
Upon completion of this course you will be qualified to work in-school daycares. This course does not guarantee a position within LBPSB.
